It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

It’s been raining here in the DC metro area since Sunday morning and it has not stopped yet. We tried going to Great Falls Sunday afternoon but within a couple of minutes, we realized we hadn’t brought umbrellas, rain Jackets or even ponchos, so we stopped by at the local pharmacy to pick up Ponchos but they didn’t have our size, yeah that’s right there are different poncho sizes and all they had were young adult sizes. We do consider ourselves to be young adults, but not in the size way:). Anyway, we went to the grocery store next door but they didn’t have them either and by that time it had starting raining reallll bad. We still wanted to go to Great Falls and started driving again without ponchos, but after another couple of miles, we changed our mind as it was was getting awful, the car was skidding and the visibility was not good. So on our way back we stopped at little falls parkway (crossing of little falls pky and Mass Ave) hahaha, we decided to settle for little falls rather than great falls. You can look them up here on google maps.

It was such an incredible sight, we had bee there before on our usual hiking tip, the water looks like a small creek but yesterday man it left Great Falls high and dry (hopefully). If somebody fell into it, there was no escape. There is something that a river has which the ocean doesn’t seem to offer. It’s that sounds of rushing water. It’s those little rocks. It’s that feeling you get when you touch the water. All in all, I would still consider our trip a success despite the fact that we walked in the rain (there was no one there) and were drenched.  But it was fun, it was our first summer/spring random excursion. Didn’t take any pictures as I didn’t have the camera with me. Next time will make sure I have my camera to compliment these posts.

Why is this in a photography blog? who knows.. I guess it’s, after all, a blog.

Cheers.
