The Washington Nationals

So, as we mentioned in our previous post, we were able to attend the Washington Nationals game over the weekend.  Baseball is definitely one of those sports that’s better to watch in person.  There’s something about the smell of peanuts and popcorn and chili cheese nachos and beer that makes it worth, even if the team loses 11-4…which is pretty much what the score was at the top of the 8th.  We met up with a friend and made our way to the new Nationals stadium.  It’s absolutely stunning!  We were sitting right below the scoreboard, which one would think might not be the best seats.  But, it turns out it was completely open, which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable.  The weather was also beautiful, and we were able to watch the sun set right from our seats.  Of course, our hometown team didn’t do too well.  Apparently, they were a bit more successful the previous night; the game went to 13 innings.  Pretty crazy.  Anyway, all in all, it was awesome and we got some great close-ups of the players.

For those who live in DC/MD/VA and who are interested in going to a Nationals game in the future, the metro goes right there.  Just take the Green line to the Navy Yard stop.  Obviously, since almost everyone else will also be taking the metro, you can just follow the crowds.  It’s pretty painless!  It’s a very family-oriented atmosphere in general, so the kids will love it too.  Oh, and remember your cap. On a side note, August is fast approaching, and we all know what that means.  FOOTBALL!  Go Skins.
