We spent this weekend in NYC. We both love going to NYC and our biggest attraction is food. I cannot think of a cuisine or even a dish which I have not been able to find in NYC. We have been to these hole in the wall places which only the local people know about and even if you knew about it, you wouldn’t want to go (unless you are a foodie) as they are in hidden alleys. This time around we went to “Kenka”. It is actually a decent sized Japanese restaurant. The setup is pretty cool. They have posters of old Japanese movies on the wall and have really old-school loudspeakers playing old Japanese music. The whole theme is Japanese movies; even the menu has a few naked ladies on it
. The food is off the charts and the prices are out of this universe. We had 2 beer pitchers (yeah, no kidding), about 5 dishes and it all came to $50 which, by NYC standards, is basically free food. Not only that, once you are done, they give you these small cups with sugar and they have a cotton candy machine on your way out. You make the cotton candy and use a chopstick to wrap it. Great concept.
We are planning to go to NYC for July 4th weekend, will get back to you with another hidden joint.
