Thinking about moving? Not before you read this …

citymove

I have this theory that if a site looks good then more than often they are serious about their business. Citymove was launched back in 2003 by a couple of Manhatanittes out of necessity.  It is a cross between Angieslist and Ebay. You post a moving  job and you receive bids from the moving companies along with reviews from past customers who used the movers. You make up your mind and accept the bid. Sounds simple and easy right.

Citymove’s main objective is to bring  the customer and movers closer, but they are not responsible for anything. The bidding and accepting the bid are not legally binding. But the movers always have a risk of customers leaving bad review if they don’t do the job right. I am not sure how Citymove will deal with movers who change their company names at the drop of a hat. I guess then they don’t have a long history of reviews.

I definitely like the concept. It is way better than calling the movers and they give you a different quote and charge you different on the day of the move and there is nothing you can do, or the worse they do bad job. Atleast now the customers have a power to spread the experience positive and negative. It is also fair to movers who are honest and are trying to build a business. It works both ways. So go ahead and check them out, maybe you end up finding your dream movers.
