Some 50mm love
So, we bought another 50mm lens that shoots at 1.4, essentially with a gloriously fast shutter speed. We’ve been going around the house, and driving around in the car, taking detail shots all weekend, including of my freckles! Too much sun is definitely a bad thing. And, what a beautiful couple of days to be doing it! It’s 70 degrees in the suburbs of the nation’s capital, and it’s the middle of November. No, we’re not complaining. Not at all.
Our “enhanced” business card
If you read our previous post (and you’ve seen the massive banner at the top of the blog), you’ll know that we finally developed a new logo, which we feel suits the KP brand. Well, we also recently ordered a new batch of business cards to accompany the new logo…again, going along with the simple, elegant, and contemporary look that we love so dearly. Maybe it’s because it’s fall, but we have a new-found adoration for the gray monochromatic shades these days.
GW Parkway => Georgetown (DC)
There’s so much to see and do around DC. We jumped in the car and drove to Georgetown last night, not necessarily for the shopping, which I could have easily indulged in. They just opened up a huge North Face Store, and True Religion and Apple are putting down roots…yay! Anyway, I’ve spent much quality time on the G’town campus, and on M Street, and yet the amount of traffic that we always seem to encounter never fails to surprise me.
On our way to Georgetown, driving on GW Parkway – my daily commute. Such a nice road when there’s no traffic. Seriously.
Key bridge view of Georgetown University…love that it’s on a hill.
What else would you expect? Traffic on M street..but that’s the charm. Kinda.
We have a True Religion store now…actually there’s one at Tysons Corner too. And, in fact, R&R is better. ![]()
FOOD
One of our favorite past times, besides photography of course, is eating out. If it’s got great ambiance and creative food, we’re there. After venturing out to DC (including a brief stop in DC’s rather funky version of China Town) yesterday evening, we decided we’d drive to Yechon in Annandale for some Korean BBQ, sake, and Kirin. Following our fantastic meal there, we drove home and Cake Boss happened to be on TV. And, of course, this resulted in an indescribable cupcake craving. So, we made some vanilla cupcakes…100% from scratch. Including the icing.
Noodles Express in Chinatown…yes, they do make fresh noodles – iPhone pic.
Yechon in Annandale VA…Korean BBQ with Kirin Beer and sake – iPhone pic.
Kyra added WAY too much food coloring…oh well…they still look pretty.
Anyway, enough gear, golden, and goodie talk.
Happy Sunday!
P.S. – Did the Redkins really get a win today? And against the Broncos? Stunned.
