Paris – am I allowed to say ‘nuf said? Well, it goes without saying that the city of lights, even when you’re only there for literally 48 hours, is magical. Just enough time to see the sites and have sushi with old friends! We stayed in the Marais, which was great. I’d only visited the Old Marais in the past, so it was fun to explore the newer areas as well. Great cafe scene (is there a neighborhood that doesn’t have one?), young, diverse, and stylish. And we stayed in a fabulous, modern with a funky art deco twist, boutique hotel. Somehow we ended up with the penthouse suite because they thought we were newlyweds. Certainly not complaining. Haha. To be young and “just married” again!
Of course, we had to do some touristy stuff – Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Ile de la Cite, Notre Dame, Tuileries, and the Champs-Elysees. We also found time to pseudo celeb stalk with only a point and shoot in-hand. Hate when that happens! Karl Lagerfeld just happened to be strolling through the streets of the 6th on his way to a photo shoot. Definitely a moment to remember, especially since it was Paris Fashion Week. Chanel was oozing through the alleys. Anyway, Paris will always be one of my favorite cities in Europe. And, I’m still fantasizing about the day (or century) the U.S. decides to import its cafe and street food culture.
Enjoy another slideshow, but this time all pictures are from a point and shoot camera.
