Aktta + Jay’s Wedding Day (Alexandria, VA)

We shot Aktta and Jay’s engagement photos several months ago. Such a blast, mainly because they needed so little direction. No need to ask them to strike a pose (not to worry, I’ll spare you the totally hackneyed Madonna circa 80s references). They were so comfortable doing it on their own. Not to mention their ability to completely tune out the oodles of tourists who always seem to flock to the monuments in DC right when we’re in the middle of a shoot. How dare they, seriously?! Cut to last weekend…their beautiful wedding day! The entire back-drop was so colorful, festive, and joyous. With pinks mixed with reds, and a hint of teal, it was a photographer’s dream. We kept doing 360s, wanting to capture it all, hoping we weren’t missing yet another detail, anonther guttural guffaw, another emotional moment. And, the Baraat was purely fabulous! Made me want to get married all over again! Well, only if I could actually participate in the dancing through the streets to Bollywood’s best with some Bhangra and techno thrown in.
